White's Wood Academy
Safeguarding at White's Wood Academy is paramount. We have created an environment and culture where children rightly feel safe and supported and where they feel comfortable in talking to our staff about any concerns they have.
All children have the right to be kept safe and protected from harm. Everyone who works at the school, whether staff, governor or volunteer, is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all children and has a duty under the law to pass information onto relevant agencies if they have concerns that a child is at risk of harm.
At White's Wood Academy we will:
- Maintain an environment where school staff and volunteers feel safe, are encouraged to talk and are listened to when they have concerns about the safety and well-being of a child.
- Ensure children know that there are adults in the school whom they can approach if they are worried.
- Ensure that children, who have additional needs, are supported appropriately. This could include referral to Early Help or other specialist services if they are a Child in Need or have been / are at risk of being abused and/or neglected.
- Ensure that children are taught to understand safeguarding, including online safety, through our specifically designed curriculum.
- Are diligent and thorough at all times with matters relating to safeguarding.
- Always act in the interests of the child and nurture a culture where Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
